Jordan
1. What if Jordan was never separated from the British Palestine Mandate?
2. What if Britain deeded the entire Palestine Mandate to Abdullah and the Arab Legion, pre or post WWII? A policy of “Arabization” to deal with the Arab Revolt of 1936 to 1939, or to deal with the Jewish revolt of the 1940s.
3. What if Jordanian monarchy overthrown between 1945 and May 1967? – Is war with Israel automatic? What would effects of a Soviet-supported Republic be?
4. What if Jordan absorbed the Syrian mandate, during or after WWII?
5. What if Jordan, or part of it, were part of the French Syria Mandate?
6. What if the Jordan and Palestine Mandate borders with Syria and maybe Lebanon were drawn further north, to include Da’ara, Golan and Druze areas?
7. What if King Hussein were killed by Israelis in 6 Day War?
8. What if Jordan intervened in the Suez War?
9. What if Jordan intervened in the Yom Kippur War? Could Jordan make secret preparations? What would be their prospects of gaining/holding territory west of the Jordan? What would this do to Jordanian-Palestinian relations? Postwar Jordan-Israel relations and negotiations?
10. Jordan’s reaction if Israel attacked before the Egypt-Jordan alliance, a few days earlier than OTL.
Lebanon
1. What if France made the Lebanon Mandate smaller, leaving the rest to Syria? Maybe just Mount Lebanon, or Mount Lebanon and the Shia district south to the Palestine Mandate, leaving the Biqaa Valley and northeast to Syria.
2. What if the PLO launched mass attacks from Lebanon into Israel during the Yom Kippur War?
3. What if Khomeinist revolution in Iran suppressed, what is the political evolution of Lebanese Shia? Do they coalesce into an anti-Israeli, Syrian-supported force, or are they participants in the Israeli backed South Lebanon Army? (Lebanese Shia sometimes aligned with pro-Israel factions in the early days of the Lebanon War. According to either Patrick Seale or Said Aburish, while the perpetrators of the Sabra-Chatilla massacre were under command of the Maronite Christian Falange, a lot of the trigger pullers in the camps were Shia)
